EMPLOYERS ARE SEEKING HEALTH CARE AND
WELLNESS PROVIDERS TO CUT HEALTH CARE COSTS
According to a Met Life Study, shows that the availability of wellness programs, designed to improve employee physical health, have grown significantly from being offered by 27% of employers in 2005 to 44% of employers in 2011.
The most important benefit objective is controlling the cost of health and welfare benefits ranked at the top of the list for 54% of businesses.
E.Pluribus Massey, founder of BenefitUAmerica says ”Companies are suffering because of rising health care costs; as a result, companies are dropping health care benefits of their employees. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, (60 %) of 2995 employers polled offered medical coverage this year down from (69 %) in 2000. Workers are now paying $1,094 more in premiums annually for family coverage than they did in 2000.
With health care costs soaring about (10%) each year, businesses are turning to wellness programs to encourage employee health and prevent illness. Health care and wellness professionals can offer their service and expertise as a benefit to help companies reduce health care costs.
